Then the fabric mill had to delicately bleach the tips of the mohair to achieve a unique frosted effect - simulating years of exposure to sunlight.
The artisans at Steiff Schulte tell us this was no easy task. And yet, they succeeded beautifully, to present this wonderful replica to collectors everywhere. The Teddy bear Replica 1925 features a hand-stitched nose of apricot floss.
The Teddy bear also has airbrushing around its paw pads to simulate subtle aging.
It is stuffed with kapok and has hand-blown glass pupil eyes. This lovely Teddy bear is second in the serie4s of brightly coloured bearsfrom the 1920's. During this fascinating decade, tastes, fashions, and attitudes changed drastically - and Steiff changed along with them.
